Darkness Does Not Discriminate

When you think of pregnancy center ministry, what do you imagine? A scared teen coming in looking for a free pregnancy test? A new mom taking classes to help her become a better parent? A young couple trying to sort out their future?

Often times, those are the scenarios we serve. But sometimes it looks more like this experience staff member ToriLynn has been praying through:

For the past two weeks I've been communicating with an abortion-determined woman over Google Voice. I'll call her "J". She found our text line on our website and reached out seeking an abortion. I texted back and forth with her for a couple of days asking her to come in and talk with me about ALL of her options. I offered to provide her with an ultrasound. I let her know she was not alone and that I would love to speak with her face to face with no fear or judgment. She ultimately thanked me but declined. I texted her again after a couple of days. I didn't hear from her, but [Executive Director] Cindy and I agreed in prayer immediately for the life of this baby and for this client. She has other children and I know this would absolutely devastate her soul. I've continued praying for her and yesterday she reached out to me to schedule an ultrasound! She's still pregnant and coming in NEXT WEEK for her scan!!! May Jesus continue to work and save the life of this little one and his/her mama "J" who is feeling overwhelmed, desperate, alone, and scared.

There is no stereotype in our ministry. People from all walks of life find themselves in challenging situations, desperate for hope, help, love, and resources. They may have kids, prior abortions, broken relationships, or..... maybe none of those things.

Darkness does no discriminate.

Regardless if it's through texting, phonecalls, or in person, we offer clients a safe place to consider their future and have light and truth shed on their situation. There is always hope, and we're here to wrap it around those who find themselves in scared, dark, hopeless places.
